Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 September 2026

Clean Finance is a division of L&J Advisory ABN 99 643 353 235 ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

We collect personal and business information that you provide to us, and information generated when you use our services. This typically includes:

2. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you register for a readiness check, complete a form, upload documents, or communicate with us by email or phone. We may also collect information from third parties, including credit reporting bodies, lenders, your accountant or broker, equipment suppliers, and publicly available sources, where you have consented or where the law permits.

3. Why we collect and use it

We use your information to:

4. Automated processing and AI

We use automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to extract information from the documents you provide and to rank potential lenders. The facts extracted this way are shown back to you, with the text they were read from, and are not used until you confirm them.

The eligibility rules that produce your result are fixed, versioned and applied identically to every applicant. They are not generated by a model, and an assessment can be reproduced and explained afterwards. A person from our team reviews material assessments before an application is submitted, and the lender makes the credit decision.

If you would like to know how a particular assessment was reached, ask us and we will explain it.

5. Who we disclose it to

We may disclose your information to:

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Overseas disclosure

Your information is stored in Australia. Our database, our file storage, and any documents you upload to us are held in Australian data centres (Sydney).

Two qualifications, stated plainly. First, the cloud providers we rely on for that Australian hosting are companies incorporated in the United States, and their personnel may be able to access our systems from outside Australia for support, maintenance or security purposes. Second, our web application runs on a global network of servers, so a page you load while travelling overseas may be processed in the country you are in, even though the stored record stays in Australia.

We do not currently send your information to any overseas provider for email delivery, document analysis or AI processing. If that changes, we will update this policy and this section before it does.

7. Credit information

Where we arrange credit for a business purpose, we may collect and disclose credit information and credit eligibility information in accordance with Part IIIA of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code. Further detail is available in our Credit Reporting Policy, available on request.

8. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. That includes access controls, encryption in transit, and vetting of service providers. We retain information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet our legal and regulatory record-keeping obligations, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

9. Direct marketing

We may send you information about our services, including updates on green finance options relevant to your project. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting us. We do not use sensitive information for direct marketing.

10. Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking scripts. Its fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font network. Nothing about your visit is shared with anyone.

The portal, at portal.cfinance.com.au, sets one cookie once you sign in. It exists to keep you signed in and is required for the portal to work. It is not used for advertising or tracking.

If we ever add analytics, we will update this section before doing so.

11. Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period, and will explain our reasons if we are unable to give access or make a correction.

12. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first so we can investigate. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at cfinance.com.au/privacy, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
